Our CSA
How it works.
A customer just like you will buy a share at the beginning of each year. This fee helps support the costs of running our livestock operation. In return that "shareholder" (which I must say, strikes a remarkable resemblance to you) receives a monthly distribution of the harvest, from May to December, at a designated location. From roasts to ribs, each month you will find an exciting selection of meats from which to cook a delicious and healthy meal for the whole family.
If you have ever thought about purchasing a whole pig or a quarter of beef but did not have the freezer space, or if you wanted to go in on a side of beef with some friends but they just couldn't get their act together, well here's the solution.
Monthly shares consist of a diverse mix of grass-fed beef, humanely-raised veal, and pasture-raised pork. Each month the share box will weigh approximately 10 pounds, but the cuts of each type of meat will vary.
The "essence" of the CSA is this: each 'member' receives a share in the monthly harvest, not a pre-order or set amount. "CSA" stands for community supported agriculture and therefore tries to tie the community into the risks and rewards inherent in a food production system. This is not meat by the pound (though we do aim at a target $/lb.). In a system where most food travels for thousands of miles and many nights, this is a direct relationship between producer and consumer, a chance to interact, a meeting place, over an event so basic as eating. So have us over for dinner- or maybe just buy a share. We look forward to meeting you.

How to purchase
Receiving payment up front helps both the farmer and the consumer. The farmers can have access to cash when they need it and not have to borrow and pay interest. Also, by knowing our targeted production numbers we can work with the processor and other distributors to lower our costs. In turn, we can pass these savings to you.
